It seems either you liked it or you hated it. I liked it. It was very different than I though it was going to be, which was probably a good thing as it kept me guessing. A little slow moving and probably could have been two movies instead of three, but the end was worth the wait. Now I can get back to my movie theater boycott I guess…
If you haven’t seen it yet, check out The Meatrix. Even if you don’t believe in animal rights, it’s still a neat animation.
I’ve decided I no longer find value in dishing out 8 bucks to see a movie in the theater, unless it’s a movie that simply has to be see on the big screen like The Matrix or other CGI-heavy flick. My new day’s resolution shall be to see fewer movies at the theater. Too bad, because I love movies, but most of them aren’t worth $8 for me to see. At least there’s still budget theaters.
I saw the new Matrix movie last night when it opened. I must say it was well written, although the first hour of the movie was boring. The fight scenes are great too. Very philosophical, as you would expect from a Matrix sequel. Spoiler alert: I found this Slashdot post and this followup to be quite interesting after having seen the movie. Recently I purchased a sweet utility called DVD X Copy XPRESS, which allows you to make perfect backup copies of your DVD collection. It is by far the easiest solution out there for backing up your discs (put in the DVD, a blank DVD-R, and click ‘Start’). Works great! $49.99 AR on their web site.
If you haven’t seen this movie yet, rent it or buy it. It’s simply brilliant and delightful. Excellent casting and clever plot. You’ll be hard-pressed in choosing your favorite character. Oh yeah, and it’s my birthday today. I haven’t felt this good since I was 23!
