It’s official – I’ve accepted a new job as a Senior Designer Analyst at Wisconsin Public Service Corp. (WPS) in Green Bay. I’m both excited and nervous. I’m giving up a job that is only 2 miles from where I live for a long drive. My primary motivation was that I’m hoping this position will offer more growth opportunities. It took a lot of soul searching, and I hope I made the right decision. Wish me luck!
At least my taxes will be lower so I can pay for the heat bill… And I’ll sleep better knowing the evil homosexuals aren’t coming to get me.
I haven’t been able to update this lately because it’s been very busy. I started by new job a week ago with the City of Appleton. It’s fairly busy and can be stressful at time, but it’s a nice place. I’m currently living with my parents until my new lease starts on May 1st. We’ll be living in Kaukauna, just off of CE by Tanner School. Wanda will be staying in Eau Claire for another month while she finishes up her current job.
Umm…I had a change of heart (again) about going back to school, but this time it’s a good reason. I was recently accepted for a programmer position at a company called Entropy Multimedia in Eau Claire, WI. Sweeeet. The best part is I get to be with Wanda, which rocks.
So I start my new job on Saturday making $7.50 an hour. It dawned on me that I was making $7.00 at a job 5 years ago before I went to college. Basically, I went to college and did all that work for a 50 cent raise. To make matters worse, that amount doesn’t even keep up with inflation if you assume a 3% decrease in the value of the dollar each year. So I am actually making less money than I was before going to college. Go team.
I’m currently looking for employment in the Midwest, specifically Wisconsin and Minnesota. I am willing to relocate at my own expense. I specialize in Web Development (especially PHP and ASP) and Windows/Linux systems administration. See my resume for details (also available in Word format).
