Web Hosting Blues

If you hadn’t noticed, my web site has been down for the last several days. My previous web hosting provider decided to take down the server I was on without notice, losing much of my data (as you can see, I lost my blog entries since February). I have since found a new web host. I have made a dramatic change from past hosts – I’m now hosting on Windows 2003. Even thought I’m a Linux geek, most Windows hosts give you everying the Linux hosts do (minus IMAP), plus you get ASP, ASP.NET, and Microsoft SQL Server. My new host even supports ColdFusion and Java Servlets. It’s going to be a long road ahead…

Bathroom Social Time

Why is it people feel the need to talk to me while I’m peeing? It has gotten so bad I’ve been forced to seek alternate bathrooms at work so I don’t run into people who want to chat. The other day I was going to the bathroom when a giant leech latched on to me. Even though there were partitions between us, he started talking about work. When we were finished, he continued talking. So I got stuck in the bathroom having an irrelevant chat about work (not a functional chat, but more like gossip and off-the-wall commentary). Not exactly one of my favorite topics.

Note to world: I don’t like to socialize while I’m urinating.
