A co-worker of mine devised a clever and accurate rating system to identify geekiness:

1. Early adopters – try new things before everyone else and love learning new stuff.
2. People that try things when the #1′s recommend it to them.
3. People that try new things after the #2′s have working all the bugs out, it has become a standard, and they need to learn it.
4. People that focus on a specific niche and don’t concern themselves with other areas.

I thought I would share this with the world so you could use it to identify those among the office that are geeky and those whom are just wannabes.
